White-Reinhardt Ag Scholarship 

Due: December 2, 2024

This scholarship program is to provide travel expense funds to attend the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference and then use the information gained to expand their outreach to students regarding food, fiber and fuel.  The White-Reinhardt Fund for Education is a special project of the Foundation in cooperation with the AFB Women’s Leadership Committee. It was established to honor two former chairs of that committee, Berta White and Linda Reinhardt, who were leaders in the national effort to improve agricultural literacy.

2024 CHS Foundation Classroom Grant

Due: November 15, 2024

CHS Foundation provides $500 grants each year to pre-kindergarten-12th grade teachers who have classroom projects that use agricultural concepts to teach reading, writing, math, science, social studies and more. Eligible projects include classroom and schoolyard gardens, embryology projects, aquaculture projects and agricultural literacy reading programs to name a few. Projects need to be completed by June 1 the following year to allow for submission of a final report by June 30. Only state-certified classroom teachers employed by a school district or private school teachers are eligible to apply.

The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation

Due: Rolling Basis (Year-Round)

The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF) is dedicated to planting fruitful trees and plants to alleviate world hunger, combat global warming, strengthen communities, and improve the surrounding air, soil, and water. FTPF programs strategically donate orchards where the harvest will best serve communities for generations, at places such as community gardens, public schools, city/state parks, low-income neighborhoods, Native American reservations, international hunger relief sites, and animal sanctuaries.

Fund for Teachers

Due: January 23, 2025

This program provides provides educators with resources needed to pursue self-designed professional learning experiences. FFT grants are used for an unlimited variety of projects; all designed to create enhanced learning environments for teachers, their students and their school communities.

Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education – Youth Educator Grants

Due: November 7, 2024

NCR-SARE recognizes that youth programs are a way to introduce new and exciting farming and ranching options to youth, families, and community members. The Youth Educator program provides opportunities for youth to learn about Sustainable Agriculture (farming and ranching that is ecologically sound, economically viable, and socially responsible). These grants help youth educators encourage youth to try sustainable practices and explore sustainable agriculture as a viable career option.

Silos & Smokestacks Field Trip Award Program

Available throughout the 2024-2025 school year 

The Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) Field Trip Program is a grant initiative designed to help schools in the 37 county heritage area fund the transportation costs associated with field trips to designated SSNHA Heritage Sites and farm sites giving students the opportunity to learn about America’s agricultural heritage firsthand. The award funds 75% of the total amount of transportation costs to and from the school and the selected SSNHA Heritage Site or farm site. Award not to exceed $350.00.

Walmart Community Grants

Due: Quarter 4: November 1—December 31

Grants are a for K-12 public or nonprofit private school, charter school, community/junior college, state/private college or university; or a church or other faith-based organization, and range from $250-$5,000. Proposed projects must benefit the community at large.

Rural Technology Funds

Due: Every 30-60 days

Rural Tech Fund provide grants for Rural Technology Education projects and Assistive Technology projects.

Aquaponics Grants

Grants for your school to set up an aquaponics system.
